Mark Ruane

Mark is a retired Air Force Colonel with command experience in aircraft maintenance and logistics readiness operations.  

 

He served at the National Guard Bureau as Chief, Logistics Strategy & Doctrine Branch and later as the Chief, Mobility Aircraft Branch.  In his last assignment as the Air National Guard Advisor to the Director of Logistics, Engineering and Force Protection, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, he served as a senior advisor, chief strategist and logistics consultant to the command’s senior most logistics leader. 

 

He has extensive experience in Mobility Air Force operations, having directed maintenance efforts for C-141, C-17 and C-130J aircraft, and deployed multiple times in support of Air Forces Central Command efforts in South West Asia. Throughout his 27-year military career, he has led at every level – tactical to strategic – and was directly responsible for the development and implementation of critical warfighter requirements in both the active and reserve components.  

 

Prior to founding Vector One Consulting Group, he served as Director of Defense Strategy for a tech start-up, leading the company’s efforts in Air Force innovations and defense requirements. 

 

He now provides his experience and expertise to help guide innovative small businesses with game-changing technologies through the DoD landscape to rapidly get their product into the hands of those who need it most…the warfighters.
