About
Dudley Capps is an Army National Guard (ARNG) Aviation veteran with 30 years’ experience in U.S. Army Aviation programs. From coordinating the training and deployment of Aviation forces to overseeing the ARNG-wide sustainment of aircraft and equipment, Dudley has excelled in some of the most highly visible and often contentious challenges Army Aviation has ever seen.
A successful team builder, Dudley believes that open and transparent dialogue is the key to navigating challenging problems. Since 2006, Dudley has been at the forefront of ARNG Aviation initiatives including the redesign of ARNG Aviation Brigades and the fielding of the UH-60M, AH-64E, and the UH-60V helicopters. His background reflects proven success in developing and executing strategic plans in complex, high stress environments.
Born in Jacksonville, FL, Colonel Capps began his career as an Air Traffic Control Specialist in the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG) and graduated from the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, GA in May 1995. He is qualified in the AH-64 Apache, UH-72 Lakota, and the OH-58 Kiowa Army helicopters.
Dudley Capps was assigned to the National Guard Bureau, Arlington, VA in the Army Aviation and Safety Division in December 2005. He has proven success in positions of increasing responsibility, complexity, and visibility including Mobilization Planner, Force Structure Manager, Aviation Operations Branch Chief, Aviation Maintenance and Logistics Branch Chief, and Human Resources Division Chief.
